1. What are natural products? How are they different from the mainstream products?

A: Natural products, such as Omved’s, are made with pure and organic ingredients that are good for you and your loved ones.

2: What is the shelf life of most of your products?

A: Most of our products do not have a shelf life of more than two years; however the shelf life varies for each product based on the ingredients used in its formulation. All of Omved’s products come with a manufacturing as well as an expiry date indicator or a symbol that advises you to use the product within a certain period of opening it for best results. If any of our products need to be stored in different conditions, we mention the same on our packaging.

3: Are your products fresh?

A: Our products are made in small controlled batches, to maintain their freshness. We make fresh batches at regular intervals so that can buy the latest batches of products.

4: Why small batches?

A: Small batches and quick shipment ensure freshness; however, opened products should be used within 24 months for best results. Even short-term exposure to extreme temperature changes can affect the thickness and texture of the products, resulting in possible separation; without compromising their efficacy. Shaking and/or refrigerating products can restore consistency. Long-term exposure of products to sunlight and/or heat should be avoided as the resulting oxidation may affect freshness.

5: Doesn’t the government legislate the safety of your products?

A: Some governments in other places around the world have taken strong steps in the right direction; Europe and Australia are ahead of the times than we are here in India where often companies get by with just mentioning their herbal actives and not all the ingredients in the formulation. Currently, there is a coalition of various groups trying to get companies to sign The Compact for Safe Cosmetics; so far there are just over 400 companies who have signed (none of which are large mainstream companies). 6. How do you pack your products?

A: All of Omved’s oils, creams and lotions are packed in either coloured glass or aluminium cans, not only to protect the formulations (no BPA leaking into them, no light penetrations and no erosion by the essential oils) but also because our products need to be SAFE for you and the earth. We do not use plastic containers to pack our products.

7. I've noticed that a separation occurs in some of your products. Is this a problem?

A: Omved uses no synthetic emulsifiers to bind the oil and water phases of our products. Occasionally, some separation does occur; you'll open the product and see an oily or watery layer at the top. This does not mean the product is spoilt, nor does separation lessen the product's effectiveness. The problem is easily corrected by following the instructions you see on the label: Shake Well before Using.

8. Does Omved make any products that are hypoallergenic?

A: Hypoallergenic is a marketing term that refers to products formulated without the use of known allergens. Most of Omved’s formulations are 100% natural and leave out many known allergens. They have been approved by Safe Cosmetics to be safe and non-toxic too. But do remember, even if products are completely natural they might not suit your skin. Due to different skin types, we advise you to carry out a patch sensitivity test before you start using any of our products.

9. Do you offer any fragrance-free products?

A: At Omved, we do not add any synthetic fragrances, colours or perfumes to our products. What you smell in our range of products is the natural aroma, fragrances and colours of pure herbal extracts and essential oils used in it. Sometimes, even essential oils and herbs can cause sensitivities, so we advise you to carry out a patch sensitivity test before you start using any of our products.

10. What is a proprietary blend?

A: This is a combination of ingredients; such as a recipe that a company owns and uses under exclusive legal rights of the inventor. It can be protected by patent or copyright as to name, product, composition or process of manufacture.

11. Are your products vegan?

A: All of Omved’s products are vegetarian and most of them are vegan, except for a few of our medicinal Ayurveda oils are not vegan because they are prepared using milk according to classical recipes.

12. Is Omved’s packaging recyclable?

A: Yes absolutely. All of our packaging is easily recyclable. We aim for minimal packaging whenever possible. Most of our products at stores do not come with an outside packaging. When they do, our packaging boxes are made from recyclable cardboard. We print catalogues and other material on 100% recycled paper.


Hair Care

1. Do your shampoos and conditioners have chemicals?

A: Omved’s shampoos and conditioners do not contain any chemicals and they are 100% natural and made with pure botanical extracts.

2. Why don’t your cleansers / shampoos lather? Are they effective without a lot of lather?

A: It is a misconception that shampoos that lather really well clean your hair effectively. Omved's shampoos and cleansers are made with natural cleansing agents like Areetha and Soap Nuts (natural saponins), which clean the hair effectively with a quick, modest lather. Since our shampoos are so mild, they can also be used for coloured or treated hair. All our Cleansers and Shampoos are chemical-free and do not contain harmful ingredients or inexpensive, petro-chemically derived detergents such as sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, olefin sulfonate and cocamidopropyl betaine which have foam-building properties. These chemicals can dry out the hair and scalp, and may cause allergic reactions as well as environmental problems.

3. Do I need to use a conditioner with my shampoo?

A: Not every hair type will need a conditioner. For most people with dry or chemically treated hair, using a conditioner is important because it keeps the hair and scalp hydrated, balances the oil content, restores elasticity and strength to the hair, and detangles (to avoid breakage). If your hair is oily or fine, a conditioner used on the ends of the hair to detangle and smooth frizz is all you'll need. Our Gentle Conditioner for all hair types is our lightest conditioning product, designed to leave scalp tingly-clean and build body and shine without weighing down the hair.

4. Do you have any products for the treatment of dandruff, eczema and other scalp conditions?

A: Yes, we have a range of products for various hair and skin related issues. Please click here to view, our product range for different hair and skin types.

5. Is it safe to use Omved’s Shampoo with another brand’s conditioner and vice versa?

A: We recommend using Omved’s shampoo and the relevant paired Omved’s conditioner together for the best results as they have specific ingredients to combat hair issues, whether it is to nourish your hair or get rid of an itchy scalp. Since both the shampoo and conditioner are chemical-free, they are a better option to use.

6. For how many hours does the hair remain soft with Omved’s Hydrating Shampoo or Nourishing Conditioner?

A: The condition of your hair is likely to depend on the climate of the place you stay in. Omved’s Hydrating Shampoo nourishes your hair and leaves it soft and manageable for over 2 days whereas Omved’s Nourishing Conditioner works the best when used with most of our shampoos. It can leave your hair soft and manageable for at least a day or two. However, in places where the humidity levels are higher, it is likely to affect your hair texture.

7. What is the difference between a sulphate-free shampoo and one containing sulphate?

A: SLS or Sodium Laurel Sulphate is a foaming ingredient that is commonly found in most shampoos. This ingredient gives the soapy texture to the shampoo that makes your hair clean. Unfortunately this ingredient causes a lot of damage to your hair as well. Sulphate-free shampoos, such as Omved’s range of shampoos, are those that do not contain this ingredient. We use naturally foaming ingredients like Shikakai or Reetha to clean your hair without causing any damage or stripping it of its natural oils.

8. Can I use your Hair products if I have dyed my hair?

A: Yes, our products are completely natural and organic. Thus, they are safe to use. Chemically treated hair may need the extra nourishment because it is already damaged. Omved’s range of 100% natural hair care products will help to keep your hair healthy.


Ayurvedic Compresses - (Neck Compress, Waist Compress and Knee Compress)

1. Is there any other way to heat Ayurvedic Compress apart from microwave?

A: No, at the moment, we don’t have any other option to heat the compress. Placing it on direct heat will cause the medicinal herbs as well as the compress to burn.

2. Can I heat the compresses in a cooker?

A: No, we do not recommend heating it in a cooker. It will burn the compress.


1. How can I maintain even skin?

A: Each skin type, depending upon the Dosha, will have a different regime. Your lifestyle, the products you use and what you eat contributes extensively to a healthy skin. Ensure that you eat healthy, use natural and organic products and follow the Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise routine for good skin.

2. What is hyperpigmentation?

A: Hyperpigmentation is a common, usually harmless condition in which patches of skin become darker in colour than the normal surrounding skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. However, to ensure that you do not have hyperpigmentation, we suggest that you visit a dermatologist who can suggest a course of treatment for you depending on the intensity of pigmentation you have.

3. What's the best way to care for dry skin during winter?

A: Determine the type of skin you have before you choose a regime. Winter tends to make the skin very dry, so you will need to use a hydrating moisturiser to keep your skin soft and nourished in the dry season. If you have dry skin, you would need intensive creams that are more hydrating. Similarly, for normal skin or oily skin you would need something lighter that keeps your skin hydrated.

4. What’s the best way to care for dry skin in the Rainy season?

A: Cleanse your skin at least 3 times in a day with a foam-free face wash or cleanser to remove excess grime and oil. Use a nourishing moisturiser to make your skin moist, supple and healthy. Exfoliate your skin at least once a week with a gentle soap free scrub or you can also use one of our masks.

5. How can I tell if I have dry skin?

A: Dry skin can feel tight throughout the day, and you may experience noticeable flaking. A lot of factors – your diet, lifestyle etc can affect the texture of your skin. Dehydration is also a common cause for dry skin. You will always feel the need to moisturise your skin because the dryness can cause a lot of discomfort.

6. How can I tell if I have oily skin?

A: Take a blotting paper and place on your skin. If there are oil marks on the tissue you dab on your face, then you have oily skin. Other factors that indicate an oily skin are excess acne or breakouts.

7. What is the difference between a fine line and a wrinkle? Do you have any product for the same?

A: Wrinkles are caused due to repeated facial muscle movements, contracting and releasing in the same way, over years create folds along those habitual lines. Fine lines are very thin thread like lines that appear on your face. They are not as deep as wrinkles. You can try Omved’s Gotu Kola Night Cream to nourish your skin. Apply the anti-aging cream and massage till it is soaked in your skin to restore the suppleness, minimise wrinkles and improve skin texture.

8. What is acne and how do I know if my acne is severe?

A: Acne is a skin condition characterised by red pimples on the skin, especially on the face, due to inflamed or infected sebaceous glands. It usually affects people with a Kapha Dosha and is prevalent in teens, adolescents and in some cases even the adults. If regular treatments are not working on reducing the acne, then you know that it is severe. It is best that you consult a skin specialist who will help you know if there are any underlying conditions for the acne to not improve and help you get the right treatment.

9. What are the signs and symptoms of sensitive skin?

A: When someone is easily affected by their skin getting blotches and rashes with the simplest of products used, then the skin is sensitive. Your skin is prone to breakouts, acne or tingling sensation when it comes to most products.

10. How can I improve my sensitive skin?

A: Sticking to a good skin care regime and using only natural and organic skin care products can help your skin to a great extent because these are free from chemicals. Stick to a regular cleansing regime with soap free products that you are comfortable with.

11. Should I still moisturise if I have oily skin?

A: If you do feel the need for a moisturiser, choose a light water based moisturiser that will keep your skin nourished.

12. How can I shrink my pores?

A: While there are many home remedies available for you to shrink the pores, it is best that you check with your doctor or dermatologist for a specific line of treatment.

13. How can I have more radiant skin?

A: Each skin type will have a different regime. Your lifestyle, the products you use and what you eat contributes extensively to your healthy skin. Ensure that you eat healthy, use natural and organic products and follow the Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise routine for radiant skin.

14. How does stress affect my skin?

A: Stress can cause our skin to have breakouts as well as appear tired and sallow. When you are tense, your body releases stress hormones including cortisol, which may increase the skin's oil production, making you prone to pimples. This is one of the reasons that may cause acne or breakouts.

15. What causes dark circles under the eyes? Please suggest me any eye cream to cure my dark circles.

A: There are a lot of factors that contribute to dark circles around the eyes. Lifestyle, stress and lack of sleep are some of the common factors that cause dark circles. You can use our eye contour gel to reduce the dark circles under the eyes.

16. What if I have a reaction to the products?

A: We recommend that you carry out a patch test before you start using any new product. The directions to carry out a patch test are mentioned on the product. If you see any reaction, we suggest that you do not use the product. Alternatively, please look up the complete list of ingredients in our products. If there is any ingredient that you are allergic to, we do not recommend buying the product.

17. I have Psoriasis, can you help?

A: Depending upon your skin type and conditions, we suggest that you meet a dermatologist who will determine the cause for the psoriasis and suggest a line of treatment accordingly.


1. What is Tridosha?

A: Tridosha defines the three fundamental energies or principles which govern the function of our bodies on the physical and emotional level. The three energies are known as Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each individual has a unique balance of all three of these energies. Some people will be predominant in one while others are a mixture of two or more. 2. Why do you use botanical names on your ingredients listing?

A: We use the most commonly used name as well as the botanical name for the ingredients that we list in our products as well as on our website. It is a nice to know factor for many people and that is why we have chosen to list the botanical names as well.

3. Are your Products organic/natural/ayurvedic?

A: Omved’s products are 100% natural, developed with organic, natural, and wild-crafted ingredients to create non-toxic skin care therapies that are healthy and beneficial. The ingredients that we use are either unrefined or unpasteurized or cold-pressed.


1: Do you deliver worldwide?

A: Yes, we ship our products across the world. You can also find out the estimated shipping charges applicable in your country depending upon your shipping address.

2: How much do you charge for shipping and handling? Do you have Cash On Delivery (COD) facility and what are the charges?

A: For all online transactions below Rs. 500 we have an online shipping charge of Rs. 50. There is no shipping charge for orders above Rs.500. Yes, we do have Cash on Delivery (COD) option for no extra charge.

3: How long does it take for the order to be delivered after I place my order?

A: Most orders are processed and dispatched within 24 hours of order placement. The consignment may reach you within 1-4 business days of dispatch depending on the location.

4: How do I know that my order has been dispatched?

A: We will send an instant e-mail with the information of the shipment details as soon as your consignment is handed over to the shipping company.

5: How do I check the status of my order?

A: Currently, we do not have an option for a user to track the consignment details on our website. You can track your order through the AWB (Airway Bill) provided to you in the mail. Please login to the website of the logistics/courier company that is delivering your consignment to track the shipment status.

6: If I have someone in India can he/she pick up my items on my behalf?

A: Yes, we have multiple stores in Mumbai, India. Please send us an e-mail at mentioning your order with the information on which store you would like to pick-up your order from and name of the person who would be picking up the order if you do not wish to receive it by courier. We’ll keep you informed on when the order is ready in that store for the pick-up.

7: How are the products packaged?

A: Each of the products are securely packaged in bubble wrap and put into a box. We use recyclable items to package our boxes. The box is sealed well ensuring a safe delivery to your doorstep.

8: Can I ship different items in my order to different shipping addresses?

A: Our shipping process allows only one address per order. So, if you would like to order several items and ship to different people, please treat these as separate orders.

9: What happens if I am not available at the time of delivery?

A: Our delivery partners will attempt to deliver the package thrice before it is returned back to our warehouse. Please provide your mobile number in the delivery address to ensure faster delivery.

10: Why are there varying prices for certain products?

A: We have various sizes available for certain products and that is an indicator for varying prices for certain products.

11: What if an item is out of stock?

A: Some items (which are restocked regularly) and are temporarily out of stock may appear on display with an out of stock tag. You can enter your email id to notify us and we will inform you once the product is replenished and available for sale.


1: What is your exchange and return policy?

A: We will exchange a product only if we have sent you a completely different product from the one that you ordered. Merchandise can be exchanged only if it is returned unused and intact (in saleable condition).

We will not accept clothes/linen that have been washed.

If we ship out a product in the wrong size than the one that is specified in your order then we will exchange it for your correct size.

Please email us within 24 hours of delivery if you want to apply for an exchange stating the reason for exchange. We will have our customer care contact you as soon as possible.

Do not ship any product back to us without getting a confirmation for exchange from us.

We will email you detailed instructions on how to exchange your product once you receive our exchange confirmation. Please mention your invoice number in the mail that you send to us.


1: What are the different payment options available?

A: Considering our Buyer and Customer requirements, offers you the widest range of payment options:

CC Avenue: This is the leading online payment company supporting a large number of credit cards, including Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners as well as debit cards and bank transfers across all leading banks within India.

Paypal: Paypal is the leading global online payment company supporting a large number of credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. You can pay with your PayPal account from locations outside India. In some cases, it may require us to send an invoice for the same, so please send us a mail to with the PayPal ID details so that we can process the invoice to you. Please note that you cannot make a PayPal transfer within Indian accounts.

Paytm: Paytm is a digital wallet, a payment instrument where you can transfer money from your bank account or credit card to use for transactions on the platform. Now you can use this wallet to make purchases on our store as well. You just have to create a Paytm account by using your mobile number and email id and transfer cash to your digital wallet.

Cash on Delivery: For convenience of our buyers, we have cash on delivery option which has a nominal charge of Rs. 100 for all orders. There will be an additional convenience charge of Rs. 50 for orders below Rs. 500. We do not offer a COD option for orders beyond Rs. 7500. Payments will need to be made online.

Credit / Debit Cards: We accept credit card payments against orders as well. You can also pay using your Visa or Master Credit Cards.

2: How do I know my payment went through?

A: A confirmation email will be sent to you as soon as your payment goes through.


1. When do you initiate a payment for a refund?

A: The refund process will be initiated once we have received the product(s). Our refunds are processed only after verification of receipt in our account. The payment shall be made in the same instrument and subject to charges as applicable.

2. What are the types of refunds that you offer?

A: For goods that you have purchased during an online discount, the refund will be through a Coupon Code/Reward Points worth the amount paid for the product.

- For goods bought on MRP, we will refund the money the way the payment was made. If the payment was by Credit Card or Net Banking, we will refund the Credit Card or Net Banking account subject to nominal service charges as applicable.

- If the payment mode was Cheque, DD or COD we will send you a cheque (not a DD). Cheques will be sent only to the billing address of the customer.

3. What do I need to do in case I want to return a product?

A: You will need to contact our customer service and email us at to inform of the same within 24 hours of delivery. We will arrange a collection from your destination. Or you may also courier the product you are not satisfied with in an intact condition. In such a case, we offer a refund of return shipping charges (Charges that are borne by the user for sending the products to us). The refund charges will be limited to Rs. 100 or 10% of product cost, whichever is lower. The refund for shipping charges will be in the form of Reward Points.

4: What is the validity of coupon that you offer for redeeming on your online store or the physical store?

A: Our vouchers have a validity of one year from the date of issue.


1: What are your formalities in case of cancellation of orders?

A: Cancellations by the Customer

In case we receive a cancellation notice and the order has not been shipped by us, we shall cancel the order and refund the entire amount. The orders that have already been shipped out by us will not be cancelled and you will have to check our shipping and returns policy on those orders.

Cancellation by Omved Store

Under certain circumstances it might not be possible for us to accept an order and we may be compelled to cancel the same. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason at our sole discretion. Some situations that may result in your order being cancelled can include:

- Limitations on quantities available for purchase
- Inaccuracies or errors in product or pricing information
- Problems identified by our credit and fraud avoidance department

We may also ask for additional verification or information before accepting and processing any order. Our customer care will contact you if all or any portion of your order is cancelled or if we require additional information to accept your order. If your order is cancelled after your credit card has been charged, the said amount will be reversed back in your Card Account. The customer agrees not to dispute the decision made by us and accept our decision regarding the cancellation.
