What you need
- 2 carrots
- Half a glass of water
- Quarter a teaspoon of honey
Making the juice
Grate carrots in a blender and add some water in it to dilute it. You can strain it if you want or blend it to the consistency of a thick smoothie. To enhance the taste, add one teaspoon of honey to it. You can consume this juice at least twice a day until you get relief from the cough and its symptoms.
Green Tea or Therapy Teas
Green tea or therapy teas are infused with the necessary vitamins that build up the immune system that can help to get rid of the virus faster. Honey is also used to reduced the intensity of a cough.
What you need
- A quarter teaspoon of honey
- Mug of green tea/ therapy tea
Making the tea
Let the tea steep for at least 5 minutes before you consume it. Add honey to it if you want it sweetened or else you can consume it directly to ease the congestion.
Pepper helps to ease the cough that has mucus and also helps to stimulate the circulation and clear the mucus.
Making the pepper water
Boil a cup of water and add a teaspoon of honey to it. Add 4 pinches of pepper powder to this and give it a quick stir and close the lid on the pan. Strain this water and sip it in regular intervals all through the day to reduce the cough and cold.
Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin that acts as an anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and antiviral ingredients that works in combating cough and cold. This is perhaps one of the most preferred recipes over the generations.
Making the turmeric water
Boil a cup of water and take it off the flame. Add 3 pinches of turmeric powder and quarter a teaspoon of carom seeds. Cover and let it steep for 5 minutes. Strain and sip this drink to ease the congestion and cough.
