If you want to be successful at anything you must know two things;

If you bear these points in mind you will surely be happy with the benefits of your efforts, quickly. I’ve listed 10 things that will work for you when you want to become a yogi or yogini
1. The roots of yoga
Traditional yoga involves study; a key aspect of practise for more than 5000 years. I recommend the actual literature ‘Yoga Sutra’ and the ‘Bhagavad Gita’. These books have been translated into various languages, and I suggest that you pick up one with the language that you find the most easy to understand.
2. Set a goal
If you want your yoga practise to be successful, be realistic. Set your goals based on your abilities and needs so that you won’t be disappointed or feel guilty when your schedule is overwhelming
3. Commit to growth
Don’t assume that you are incapable of achieving some certain yoga postures. With perseverance and hard work you will be ultimately able to achieve your goal. Saying you’re not flexible enough for yoga is saying you are too dirty to take a bath
4. Stay there for awhile
Most of the people expect quick results. Yoga is not instant coffee. To attain the benefits of ypoga fully, one requires the practise of a lifetime to grow, diligently, patiently and regularly

Take yoga lessons from a qualified instructor at least 3 – 4 times a week. You can be a part of group yoga or hire one for a private class. Do not attempt to do yoga on your own initially. Incorrect practise methods can cause damage. Step by step instructions and asana performed under an expert can protect you from injuries.
6. Enjoy your practise
“Yoga is not for me” or “I don’t feel like practising today” approach can lead to a lack of enthusiasm. Surround yourself with a supportive environment and adapt the yoga session with the beginners mind. Challenge yourself with a self-practise
7. Integration is the key
Being aware of your breathing while practising are the secret weapons of yoga. If you get this concept quickly, you will truly enjoy more results of overall concentration and mindfulness
8. Practise 99% and theory 1%
Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, a well-known Yoga expert said, “Keep practising and all is coming”. People often worry about their progress. Be nice to your body and also others, so leave the rest the power of yoga and your good karma find you theway
9. Listen to your body
Listening to your body is an art. Trust your instinct and intuition if something doesn’t feel right your body usually tells you one thing but your mind another too. Learn to go with your body.
10. Share your passion
Those who are into yoga are granted to be blessings. Yoga practitioners may not be aware of this until gaining some spiritual growth. Offer your love and passion about yoga to anyone in an attractive way with love and care.
