1. Wash Your Face

Wash your face at least 4 times a day with a mild cleanser that is preferably soap free. Omved’s gentle facial cleanser is really the best for all skin types, all through the year, but if your skin is very dry, you can opt for the nourishing cleanser that will leave your skin hydrated and keep it extra nourished even in the summers.

2. Exfoliate Once a Week

Since summers can be really harsh on the skin, it is advised to exfoliate your skin not more than once a week. You can try some of the hydrating masks by Omved that can be mixed with aloevera, rose water or plain water depending on your skin type. Apply on your face and neck and let it stay for 10 – 12 minutes.  Wet it slightly and rub in circular motions to let the face pack act as a scrub. Our nourishing  scrubswill soothe inflamed skin and rejuvenate it while the scrubbing will also help to exfoliate dead skin.

3. Oil Your Hair

It’s really a myth that oiling your hair will make your scalp oily and vulnerable to dandruff. Summers tend to dry out our hair and it needs nourishment. The trick however is not to let the oil stay overnight. Let the oil soak in for just about an hour before you shampoo. Ayurvedic hair oils that are free from mineral oils and packed with the goodness of natural ingredients are the best for your hair in the summer. You can choose according to your hair type as well. Let the oil stay for at least an hour before you wash it off. Avoid keeping the oil overnight in the summers as it can make your scalp very oily.

4. Wash your hair with lukewarm or cold water

Wash your hair at least 3- 4 times a week with a natural, chemical free shampoo that is free from the nasties. You’d want to pamper your hair and give it some love especially after the brunt it has faced from the scorching heat. Washing your hair with cold water lock in the moisture levels and keep your hair soft and silky. You can also use some hair masks that will revitalize the damaged tresses and nourish it when you apply it.

5. Make some DIY masks

Instead of the chemical options available in the market, try some homemade packs, because you know what’s in it! Take a seasonal fruit, mash it and apply on your face and neck. You can use papaya, strawberries and melons! Another quick to make face pack is to mix some pure aloe paste with a bit of fullers earth and rose water.  This mix will not only cleanse the skin, but also add a glow to your face. 6. Use some spritz

Not just for your face, but also your hair needs the occasional spritz that will keep it hydrated. You can keep them handy in your purse, and spritz it on when you need it. If your job demands you to be outdoors, it is recommended that you use a spritz at least twice in the day to keep your skin and hair hydrated in this heat. If you are looking for quick beauty tips for the face, ensure you have this spritz handy at all times.

7. Keep yourself hydrated

Since the heat saps out your energy levels, it is normal to feel lethargic and low on energy levels. This is also because your body is telling you that it doesn’t have adequate water levels. Keep your self hydrated by drinking at least 5 litres of water to keep yourself hydrated.

You need to moisturize your skin not just in the day, but also at nights.  Have you tried our Ayurvedic skin care moisturisers?
