What would you like to do at the end of a long winding day? Just feel like relaxing? Not worry about those nagging aches and pains or the discomforts that you may have? It is important to relax and unwind at the end of the day because it allows your body to breathe and feel good. We have listed 3 simple exercises that will get rid of the fatigue and help you not just relax but also promote a fitful nights sleep!


Relax the feet

One of the most simple way to relieve those tired legs and feet from the aches and pains is this exercise that can help not only reduce swelling in your feet and ankles, but also improve circulation.

What you need to do

  • Lie down on the floor and let your hips to be close to a wall. Stretch your legs towards the ceiling.
  • You may feel a slight strain in your hamstrings. Move your pelvis a few inches away from the wall and relax.
  • You can also place a belt around the outer edges of your feet if you feel a slight strain.
  • Stay in this position for a few seconds and relax.

This position helps to drain the lymphatic fluid from the lower extremities of your body and reduces any swelling or discomfort that you may have had all through the day.


Relax the hips and chest

This relaxing pose allows you to slow down and relax while giving the rest to your hips and chest.

What you need to do

  • Lie on your back on a cushion or a bolster. Bend your knees with the feet touching the floor.
  • Very slowly open your knees and let the soles of your feet touch each other.
  • Stretch or lengthen your spine now by extending your tail-bone towards your heels. Simultaneously reach out to the crown of your head in the opposite direction.
  • Now place your palms (face them upwards) next to the hips.
  • Start by relaxing the shoulders and breathe slowly. Relax every muscle of the body slowly and continue to breathe slowly.

Unwind with a twist

This relaxing pose helps you to unwind and get the whole body to relax in the comfort of your bed! Isn’t that awesome?

What you need to do

  • Sit cross-legged on your bed and breathe deeply and concentrae on your breathing while you inhale and exhale for a few minutes
  • Now exhale and place your right hand on your left knee.
  • Place your left hand on the bed keeping it behind your tailbone.
  • Now, very gently move your body towards the left and look over your left shoulder. Stay in this position for about a minute and breathe deeply.
  • Very slowly turn back the head and place your hands on the knees.
  • Repeat this exercise on the opposite side and do at least three sets each to relax completely.
